As part of la Semaine de la Francophonie (Francophonie Week), a screening of the film “Pied Nus Dans L’Aube” (2017) will be organised in Dublin, in partnership with the Canadian Embassy in Ireland in Dublin and the Québec Government Office in London, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and Nordic countries.
At the beginning of the century, a small town located on the outskirts of inhabited Quebec. A 12-year-old child is learning about life. Each meeting, each experience contains its lesson. Friendship, love, death, misery, but also happiness are revealed to him in turn. And virgin nature, where one can escape, is at the gates of the small pioneering town… But very quickly has come the moment when childhood becomes “like too narrow a garment” that one must leave. Félix Leclerc proves here that he knew better than anyone how to magnify life, that of humans and that of nature. This chronicle of happy days is also a tender song of the world.
The Agent-General John Anthony Coleman will be present.
